2024-25 School Calendar
Thursday, September 5 First Day of Class for 5-17 Year Old Youth (Placement Evaluations). Registration Form must be completed and $200 Registration Fee must be e-transferred before attending. Attendance times for this evening are unique to this day: Ages 5-7 from 6:00-6:45 PM, Ages 8-10 from 7:00-7:45 PM, Ages 11+ from 8:00-9:00 PM. Parents must meet with volunteers to complete PAD agreements (Pre-Authorized Debit) for Costume, Volunteer and Fundraising Commitments. An additional PAD will be needed if you are opting to pay your tuition monthly. Don’t forget to bring your banking information!
Sunday, September 8 First Adult Class. 7:00 – 8:30 PM. Registration Form and $200 Registration Fee must be submitted prior to attending. Adult dancers will receive PAD agreements (Pre-Authorized Debit) for the Costume Commitment this evening. An additional PAD will be needed if you are opting to pay your tuition monthly. Monday, September 9 First Senior Monday Night Class. 6:45 – 8:45 PM for all Senior level dancers.
Thursday, September 12 First Day of Dance for Pre-Beginner Students (ages 3 & 4). Registration Form and $200 Registration Fee must be submitted prior to attending. First regular Thursday dance class for youth in Beginner, Intermediate and Senior classes (5-17 year olds). Regular class times are shown at the top of this page. Parents of 3-4 year olds must meet with volunteers to complete PAD agreements (Pre-Authorized Debit) for Costume, Volunteer and Fundraising Commitments. An additional PAD will be needed if you are opting to pay your tuition monthly. Don’t forget to bring your banking information!

Thursday, October 3 Barvinok 101 and Used Shoe Sale. 6:30 – 7:00 PM Meeting, 6:00 – 8:00 Used Shoe Sale.
Saturday, October 5 Senior Dance Class Performance at St. Vlad’s. Order of St. Andrew dinner. Evening, exact time TBA (estimating 7:00 PM).

Saturday, March 15 – Sunday, March 16 Southern Alberta Ukrainian Dance Festival (SAUDF). Dancers in Beginner, Intermediate, Senior and Adult classes participate in this festival, held at Webber Academy Theatre in Calgary.
Thursday, March 20 – Sunday, March 23 Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Festival in EDMONTON. Please note the change in dates and venue for 2025! The venue will be at The Orange Hub in NW Edmonton. Senior and Adulr classes participate in this festival.

Monday, April 21 Senior Class will proceed
Saturday, May 3 Dress Rehearsal for Year End Concert. 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Location TBA. All dancers attend.
Sunday, May 11 Barvinok Year End Concert (Vision of Dance). All classes participate in our annual year end concert at the University Theatre. Attendance by all dancers is required at a technical rehearsal at the theatre (1:30 – 3:30 PM). Dancers need to arrive at the venue for their performance at 5:30 PM. The theatre opens its doors at 6:00 PM. Curtain is at 6:30 PM. The show ends at approximately 8:00 PM.
Monday, May 19 No Senior Class (Victoria Day)
Saturday, June 7 – Sunday, June 8 Calgary Ukrainian Festival (CUF). All classes perform throughout the weekend at CUF, held at Acadia Recreation Complex.
Monday, June 9 Costume Return Night. Drop in at St. Vlad’s from 6:00 – 8:00 PM to return your costumes.
