Barvinok is no ordinary dance school. We believe dance is meant to be inclusive and for the entire community. We rely on the generous time contributions of our dancers’ family members, who volunteer at various events and activities.
Volunteers help keep our tuition fees accessible and also build and strengthen our Calgary Ukrainian dance community by working together. Our parent volunteers are the backbone of our dance society and are very involved.
Urgent: Southern Alberta Ukrainian Dance Festival (SAUDF) – Parent Volunteers Needed

33 volunteers are essential for the facilitation of the festival in various ways.
We are needing volunteers to work in our concession booth selling snacks and medal lanyards, theatre door monitors, medal presenters, gym monitors, stair monitors, admission desk workers and floaters.
Asking family and friends to volunteer at SAUDF can be an enjoyable way to involve your support network in a fun activity! It’s also a great way for responsible youth to build volunteer experience for future work experience and post-secondary scholarships.

Looking for 38 Parent Volunteers for Elbow River Casino Event April 14 & 15, 2024
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
*Key positions require an AGLC Volunteer Worker Form to be filled out. Volunteers in these roles cannot have a criminal record.
Please consider asking your family and friends to volunteer with you as we require so many volunteers for this important event.
Commitment to Volunteering
Each dance season, families of child and youth dancers commit to:
Volunteering approximately 10-15 hours per dancer (13 hours per dancer in 2023-24) at various events
if elected to our Board of Directors, all volunteer hours for their entire family are fulfilled
Donating or arranging for the donation of 1 silent auction item per family for our annual Zabava (no minimum value)
Signing up for a shift at our fundraising casinos (1 every 18 months or so)
Selling a minimum number of raffle tickets per family for our annual raffle ($100 value per family required in 2023)
Volunteering and fundraising commitments are made at the time of registration and required for participation of in our childrens’ and youth classes.
